The candles the dimmly lit the hallway dissapeared one by one, the shadows growing. It was completely silent, not even the sound of feet upon the marble floors made a sound as they made their way room to room stealing what could be stolen. He never took more than he could carry in his bag, which hung at his side, the weight steadily growing as it became filled with silver, and gold, and jewelery.
Occasionally a guard would make their way through, but the young man was quickly looked over thanks to the shield of the shadows. When his bag was completely filled he smiled and ducked into a room, a small library. A quick search helped him finda desk where he sat and began to pen out a letter to those he had stole from, a nice little calling card thanking them for the wonderful bounty they had provided. Souris allowed himself a little smile, his eyes shimmering beneath the black mask as he finished with the letter.

She slipped in through the shadows of back corners and dusty halls but today she had no reason to sulk around. A guest in this home, the occupants completely unknowing of her actual business, Jacqueline maintained a perfectly proper image, her mourning dress falling to brush just lightly over those pointed boots, the pearl and lavender choker accenting that alabaster skin delicately, offsetting those maelstrom eyes.
Something, someone vaguely caught her attention and her eyes snapped over the hall, catching an open door and she grinned slowly, malevolently, innocently. She stepped to the edge of the room, resting on the doorframe.
"Do you always write to those whose homes you enter without invitation?" Her voice was a breathed whisper of french and latin, a periously innocent visage.

Souris looked up from his letter, standing swiftly, dagger drawn, "Of course...it isn't everyday that they get to be robbed by Ombra Del Harlequin. They should feel honored." He flashed her a grin as he quickly moved closer to her, grasping her arm, his blade placed at her throat, "You'd do well to stay silent M'lady. I'd hate to hurt you if you screamed of did something of the like

Jacqueline laughed dryly, her voice though that mingled presence of light and dark, those maelstrom eyes flashing to his hand then then his eyes. "Well then, I am sure they will feel honored." However she was merely complacent, her ironic grin flashing delicately over her features.
"You won't kill me." Her voice whispered velvet, dark, a mere threatening undertone that raked through the air.

Souris met her gaze with his own, "They will feel honored, and a bit more humbled." He murmured, soft laughter lacing through his words. The master theif then lowered his dagger and stepped away from the woman, "You're right, I will not kill you, I detest killing, however I am not above hurting you and making sure you can't go and tattle."
He began to walk away from the woman, towards the tall glass windows of the study, opening them, and looking down. He could make the jump easily, he thought as he went back to the desk and grabbed his spoiles up.

Her movements were swift and as he moved to gather up his prize she had slipped to block the open window, considering the outside carefully. "You would do best not to go yet." She whispered, warned, that mocking smile inplace on her lips.
A hand reached up to brush away spidersilk strands of hair, her gaze locking darkly on him with languid curiousity.

Behind the Halequin mask he wore, his eyes narrowed at the woman who blocked his way, "And why is it that I shouldn't take my leave now? Other than the fact that you're blocking my way?"

She considered his question, her eyes focusing on his mask with wonderfully concealed interest. "You might have trouble making it out with who is waiting below." Jacqueline smirked faintly, turning once again to toss her gaze from the room, considering the stoned floor.
Or then, if you don't try, you might have trouble making it out at all...

"What do you mean, there was no one down when I checked, it couldn't possibly be a guard." Souris moved towards the window to look down at the ground, "Though a guard hasn't been able to stop me in the past." He said with a bright grin.

Jacqueline smiled indulgently and nodded slightly. "I do not doubt that a guard would fail to stop you." She offered in crystalized truth but she did not say what was down here.
"You can go if you choose, I shant inform the occupants, or you can wait until it is clear. But either way..." She shrugged elegantly, but it was obvious all the elegance was a learned aspect, not something she had been trained in since birth.

Souris hopped upon the sill of the window, he looked down at the lady, "Either way they shall sooner or late figure out that the lovely palace has been plundered." He laughed, "I thank you for your silence though...it saves me so much trouble." He winked at her, "It is hard to be a shadow when people are chasing after you like some sort of criminal."
He turned and was about to jump when he saw, not one, but four guards now standing beneath him chatting. "Damn..." he whispered softly, had it been one or two he could slip by them or take them out...but four. A frown tugged at the corner of his lips as he stepped back into the study.

She laughed delightedly, those pale lips curving upward at the corners with silent triumph. "Yes, it is hard for one to survive when others always try to shoot them down." Glass shattered in her voice, crashing in thousands of tiny pieces even though she smiled.
Jacqueline turned to look at the window, considering what lie beneath, stormy eyes skipping over the guards.

"So is the life of a theif M'lady." Souris complained as he walked back to the desk and sat down, propping his feet upon the table, his hand going up to adjust the black mask slightly, "I don't plan to let myself get caught ever...so running is the only option."

Her smile was frought with knowledged danger. "So it is." She agreed but offered nothing else by way of question or explanation and then she turned, moving to the door and shutting it silently.
"And it is not m'lady." Velvet coated her words and her smile flashed sharply at him, slighlty pleased with something.

Souris took note when the woman shut the door that led into the study, he shifted a bit in his seat. There were few things he feared, one of which was confined spaces. The study wasn't small by any means, but having the door shut cut off one of his means of escape if it became nessacery.
He cleared his throat and forced himself to relax, "What is your name then?" He asked, playing idly with a pen in his hands.
